General
- A consistent waste separation and recycling policy is implemented in all areas of our hotel
- All lamps are equipped with energy-efficient LED bulbs
- By using grease separators before wastewater disposal, we minimize the burden of food fats on the sewage treatment plant
- We employ modern water-saving technologies in all public areas to reduce our water consumption
- Following the motto "As little as possible - as much as necessary," we rely on cleaning products from the South Tyrolean manufacturer Hygan, which, in conjunction with modern dosing systems, lead to clean results
Rooms
- Our rooms are equipped with modern water-saving devices
- Shower gel and body lotion are provided in large dispensers to avoid disposable packaging
- We offer daily towel and linen changes only upon request from our guests to save water and energy
- Power switches at the entrance of the rooms turn off the electricity when no card is inserted
- Bath sandals are provided only upon request to conserve resources
- Information and the weekly program are digitally available and provided in printed form only upon request
Kitchen
- We source our food locally and seasonally, supporting local businesses and reducing transportation distances
- Our bread comes from the village bakery Psenner, we strive to obtain vegetables as much as possible from local farmers, and our meat is supplied by the village butcher Christanell
- We exclusively use milk from South Tyrol and free-range eggs from South Tyrol
Restaurant
- Ordering the evening menu during breakfast: This measure allows for precise calculations and reduces unnecessary "food waste."
- Coffee beans unfortunately do not grow regionally, yet we have found a sustainable alternative. In Rabland (just 5 km away) lies our coffee roastery, Alps Coffee-Schreyögg, guaranteeing a short journey from roasting to cup
- Straws at the bar and ice cream spoons at the children's buffet are made from organic materials and are 100% biodegradable
Technology
- Our photovoltaic system on the roof of the Aquagarden generates clean electricity from sunlight
- The portion of electricity we do not generate ourselves comes 100% from South Tyrolean hydroelectric power plants, ensuring it is guaranteed green energy
- For hot water production and heating, we utilize solar panels on the roofs of our main building and staff housing
- Multiple cogeneration units (CHP) not only generate electricity but also recover heat, which we use to heat our pools. Through combined heat and power (CHP) generation directly at the point of demand, CO₂ emissions are significantly reduced compared to conventional heating methods
- The waste heat from our air conditioning systems is efficiently reused for hot water production
Building
- Modern windows with triple glazing help keep the heat out in summer and retain warmth inside during winter
- Well-insulated exterior walls are the foundation for energy-efficient heating in winter and cooling in summer
- Extensive greenery on the flat roof of the Aquagarden, the restaurant, and the kitchen counteracts soil sealing and can absorb a lot of water during heavy rainfalls, releasing it gradually. Additionally, it aids in natural building cooling
