The
Merano "Höhenweg" trail is probably the most well known hiking trail in South Tyrol:
The whole Höhenweg trail spans around 80 kilometre. This unique hiking route is accessible from around the end of June until October.
The spectacular views along the whole route - of the Merano Basin, Vinschgau, the Passeier Valley as well as the Sarntal, Stubai and Ötztal Alps - are certainly worth the effort.

Texelgruppe Nature Park is the largest nature park in South Tyrol. A rich number of species and impressive natural landscape shape the region
The 33,000 ha offers diverse routes and beautiful tours for hikers of all fitness levels. While on guided tours you may come across marmots and you will track down some wild animals.
Irrigation paths in Vinschgau: Along the "Waalen" - the former irrigation channels at the foot of the Vinschgau mountains - which today are idea for a nice relaxing stroll or hike. The irrigation paths and promenades are perfect for the family to get close to nature in Naturns.
